A training session dedicated to the implementation of a trauma-informed approach in the educational process was held at KSU

On May 21, the Center for Psychological Resilience and Well-being of Kherson State University became a space for an important professional event. The final, fourth module of the training, dedicated to implementing a trauma-informed approach in the educational process, was held here.

The event was implemented within the framework of the international initiative Erasmus+ BURN («Boosting University Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing in (Post-)War Ukrainian Nation»). The course speaker was Larisa Ter, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology at KSU, PhD in Psychology.

This module was dedicated to a topic that is fundamental for each of us today – mental health as the main pillar in daily life.

Participants examined in detail how prolonged stress, war, overload, and chronic uncertainty deplete our resources. They discussed the manifestations of emotional burnout and ways to maintain motivation even in the most difficult moments.

Together with the trainer, participants mastered simple yet highly effective self-help tools that can be applied every day:

  • breathing exercises for rapid anxiety reduction;
  • algorithms of emotional self-regulation;
  • rules for maintaining quality social connections;
  • methods for restoring work-life balance;
  • markers for finding personal sources of resilience.
