On June 12, the presentation of the Annual Report of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ombudsman on the state of respect for and protection of human and civil rights and freedoms in Ukraine in 2025 was held in Ivano-Frankivsk.
The student rights ombudsman of Kherson State University, Olha Lytosh, participated in the event.
During the presentation, key provisions of the Annual Report were presented, which analyzed the state of compliance with human rights and freedoms in Ukraine under martial law, identified current challenges, and proposed recommendations for strengthening their protection mechanisms.
Within the framework of the dialogue platform «Children's and Youth Rights: Challenges and Practical Solutions», participants discussed issues regarding ensuring the right to education, protecting the rights of children and youth, as well as ways to effectively respond to modern challenges in the educational sphere.
Particular attention was paid to the work of the practical platform «School Ombudsmen as Guarantors of Children's Rights». During the meeting, an exchange of experience took place regarding the formation of a safe educational environment and the development of the school ombudsman institute. The session concluded with the presentation of certificates to the school ombudsmen.
Participation in such events is an important component of professional development and contributes to the implementation of effective practices for protecting the rights of learners, as well as establishing cooperation and exchange of experience among representatives of the educational community.
