KSU Vice-rector Alla Tsapiv presented the DigiUni project at the international festival “University:Future”
Vice-Rector for Internationalization of Kherson State University Alla Tsapiv participated in the international festival «University:Future» (U:FF), where, together with Taras Panchenko, a representative of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, presented the Erasmus+ DigiUni – The Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative project («Digital University – Open Ukrainian-Ukrainian Initiative»).
The International Festival «University:Future» took place from June 22 to 24 and brought together participants at six physical venues, with the main stage in Berlin (Germany), as well as online. The event program included over 290 sessions dedicated to the digital transformation of higher education, the development of artificial intelligence, innovative approaches to learning, digital skills, strategic management, and the future of universities. The festival is the result of cooperation between leading German institutions — Hochschulforum Digitalisierung, Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre, and Stifterverband — and is considered one of the largest international platforms for discussing the future of higher education in the context of digital changes. Within the session «Digital Educational Ecosystem for Ukrainian Universities: A Strategic Approach to Resilience and Sustainability» («Digital Educational Ecosystem for Ukrainian Universities: A Strategic Approach to Resilience and Sustainability») Alla Tsapiv and Taras Panchenko presented the DigiUni project to participants as the largest Erasmus+ program initiative in the history of independent Ukraine in the field of higher education.
During the presentation, the speakers spoke about creating an open digital educational environment for Ukrainian universities, developing inter-university cooperation, implementing modern digital learning tools, and building a common educational ecosystem.
Particular attention was paid to the role of the project in supporting Ukrainian higher education during the war and post-war recovery. Festival participants learned about the development of universities' digital infrastructure, the creation of DigiPlatform as a single space for exchanging educational resources and online courses, the opening of DigiCenters in partner higher education institutions, as well as the opportunities for integrating Ukrainian universities into the European Higher Education Area. According to the participants, the presentation sparked interest from the international audience and became an important opportunity to present the experience of Ukrainian universities in the field of digital transformation of education to the European academic community.
At the same time, participation in the festival also had a practical purpose — expanding the circle of universities that can join the DigiUni ecosystem and use the opportunities of DigiPlatform to develop modern digital learning. For the project's philosophy is based on openness, partnership, and the joint development of the educational environment. The participation of a representative of Kherson State University in one of the largest international forums dedicated to the future of education once again confirms the active role of KSU in the processes of digital transformation of Ukrainian higher education and its international recognition.
The Erasmus+ DigiUni project is aimed at supporting higher education in Ukraine during martial law and post-war recovery. It is the largest-scale project under the Erasmus+ program ever implemented in Ukraine. It brings together 21 institutions as full partners and 5 institutions as associate partners. The project began on December 1, 2023, is designed for four years, and its coordinator is Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
