Department of Economics, Management and Administration of the Faculty of Business and Law of Kherson State University, in its modern format, unites the academic, educational, and scientific potential of two departments — the Department of Finance, Accounting and Entrepreneurship and the Department of Economics, Management and Administration.

TWO HISTORIES — ONE DEVELOPMENT

Academic traditions that shaped the modern department

PATH 1

Economics • Finance • Accounting • Entrepreneurship

1998

The beginning of economic education
The Department of Economic and Legal Disciplines was created, and the economics division was opened within the Economic and Law Faculty of KSU.

2003

Department of Enterprise Economics
A separate department was created, and training in the specialty «Enterprise Economics» was initiated, first at the bachelor's and later at the master's levels.

2011

A new stage of development
The department was headed by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Andrii Mokhnenko.

2015

Specialty «Economics»
The specialty «Enterprise Economics» was transformed into the specialty «Economics».

2016

Expansion of educational directions
Training in the field of entrepreneurship and finance was initiated. The department was named the «Department of Economics, Finance and Entrepreneurship».

2017

Finance, Accounting and Entrepreneurship
After the opening of training in the specialty «Accounting and Taxation», the department was renamed the Department of Finance, Accounting and Entrepreneurship.

2022

Department Leadership
The department was headed by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Viktoria Petrenko.

2020

Creation of the Department of Economics, Management and Administration
A new academic center, oriented towards training specialists in the field of economics and management, was formed at the Faculty of Business and Law.

EDUCATION

Practice-oriented learning
Scientists and practice-oriented specialists were involved in the educational process, which facilitated the combination of academic knowledge with real-world cases of modern business.

PARTNERSHIP

From the university — to the real sector
The department developed cooperation with enterprises, state institutions, organizations, and international partners.

DIGITALIZATION

Innovations in the educational process
Special attention was paid to modern teaching methods, digital tools, the development of entrepreneurial thinking, research projects, and international academic mobility.

✓ Quality Assurance

In 2020, by decisions of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, the educational programs «Accounting and Taxation» of the second (master's) level and «Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activities» of the first (bachelor's) level were accredited.

In 2021, the educational program «Finance, Banking and Insurance» of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education was accredited.

2025

TWO DEPARTMENTS → ONE TEAM

A new stage of history began with the merger of the Department of Finance, Accounting and Entrepreneurship and the Department of Economics, Management and Administration.

The merger was not just an organizational change, but a logical continuation of the development of economic and management education at the Faculty of Business and Law.

The modern department has combined many years of experience in training specialists in the field of economics, finance, entrepreneurship and accounting with competencies in the field of management and public administration.

The Department of Economics, Management and Administration is an interdisciplinary academic center of the Faculty of Business and An Law, combining education, science, digital technologies, practical experience, and partnership with business and the public sector.

Kherson State University
