Objective: capacity building at Ukrainian higher education institutions and the creation of an integrated Norwegian-Ukrainian curriculum that combines practical courses, research fellowships, internships, and collaboration with nongovernmental organizations and government agencies, with the aim of strengthening science-based measures to conserve and restore Ukraine’s biodiversity during martial law and in the post-war recovery period.
The project’s main objectives:
- to implement a four-level series of progressive courses (ranging from field monitoring to molecular analysis of eDNA and the publication of open data);
- to ensure the participation of students and faculty members most affected by the war in competitive research projects and internships;
- drawing on expert knowledge to assess environmental damage and integrating the developed training modules into Kherson State University’s regular curricula
